Bio Statement

Dr. Tiryaki is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota. She is primarily affiliated with the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), where she sees patients in both the Neuromuscular Clinic and the Multispecialty Clinic. Her clinical interests include ALS, electromyography, neuroanatomy, and medical ethics and palliative care.

Dr. Tiryaki is the Medical Director of Hennepin Faculty Associates ALSA, a certified ALS center and neuromuscular clinic, and the Medical Director of the EMG Laboratory at HCMC. She is also Neurology Residency Program Director, HCMC site director for the Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship, and Assistant Chief of Neurology at HCMC. Dr. Tiryaki is a member of the ALS Research Group and the Minnesota Neurological Society and a winner of the A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award.

Research Interests

Dr. Tiryaki’s research interests include multidisciplinary care in ALS, clinical trials in ALS, and medical education.

Research Projects

Dr. Tiryaki recently served as co-investigator in a study involving dexpramipexole in ALS, and she was a co-investigator in a multicenter study for the validation of ALS biomarkers.
