Bio Statement

Dr. Andrew Smith is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Minnesota. He completed his fellowship in Neuroimmunology at the Cleveland Clinic, neurology residency at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH and medical school at The Ohio State University. He also holds master's degrees in health administration (MHA) and clinical research design (MCRS). Dr. Smith is a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).

Research Interests

Dr. Smith's research interests include comparative medicine, reproductive health, family planning and MS, and next generation therapies for multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica.

Research Projects

Dr. Smith is the Principal Investigator for an NIH-sponsored clinical trial investigating aggressive early therapy versus escalation therapy for the treatment of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Please contact smcf@umn.edu if you are interested in participating.
