Bio Statement

Dr. Carpenter is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota. He is primarily affiliated with the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, where he see patients within the realm of his clinical interests such as multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory nervous system disorders. Dr. Carpenter is a member of the Society for Neuroscience and the American Academy of Neurology.

Research Interests

Dr. Carpenter's research interests center around multiple sclerosis, but they also include neuroimmunology, neurodegeneration, and neuroprotection. Dr. Carpenter is also interested in brain imaging, clinical trials, and the neurological complications of organ transplantation.

Research Projects

Dr. Carpenter recently served as Principal Investigator of a study using magnetization transfer and rotating-frame MRI to probe multiple sclerosis.
